Influenced by both ceramics design and architecture I take clay as a broad medium with various contexts. On the one hand I constantly extend the limits of ceramics – traditionally understood as applied art or craft. On the other hand I rethink the utility and the function not just as design-qualities: I analyze the relationships between the way we treat objects of use and the way how we relate to the world.
This is the basis of my works – the research powered by questions, who we are and who are the others for us. Different scales of objects, various media and utility aspects are purposely designed for the user/viewer to offer him tailored design of relations.
Som absolventkou Ateliéru Keramiky u Daniela Piršča na VŠVU v Bratislave. Vďaka predchádzajúcemu štúdiu architektúry chápem hlinu, svoje iniciačné médium, v širšom kontexte. Na jednej strane rozmazávam zaužívané hranice vnímania keramiky ako “len” úžitkového remesla.
Na strane druhej, rozširujem samotné chápanie úžitkovosti a funkcie z dizajnových kvalít na kvality všeobecne artikulujúce ľudské potreby. Skúmam tým súvislosti medzi spôsobom, akým veci používame a spôsobom, akým sa vzťahujeme k svetu. Funkčno-vzťahové uchopenie skutočnosti je nosným motívom mojej tvorby naprieč médiami, v snahe poznávať, kým sme sami pre seba a kým sú pre nás druhí. Na pozadí divácky – až užívateľsky – haptických výstupov usilujem o vlastnú revíziu myslenia a ponúkam jeho aktualizácie, nové setup-y vnímania a na mieru zhotovený dizajn vzťahov.
